rootring links blogs together so readers can move from one site to the next and discover new writing by following the ring.

How it works

How navigation works

Each blog adds a small ring snippet to a public page on its site. In most cases, that page is the homepage. If the ring links live on a separate public page, that page can be used instead.

The ring links include a site= value. rootring uses that value to find the blog's place in the ring when a reader clicks Prev or Next. That value should match the public page rootring should use for that blog: usually the homepage, or a separate ring page if that is where the links live.

How joining works

Joining happens in three steps:

  1. Submit your blog for review.
  2. If approved, add the ring links to a public page on your site.
  3. Once those links are confirmed, your blog can be activated in the ring.

Verification checks that your ring links are visible on the public page rootring should use for your blog.

Feed URLs are optional. When available, they power the latest-posts view and OPML export.
